Lesson 1, Topic 1

Subject: Lesson 1, Topic 1 Fri Apr 15, 2011 9:03 am

Arin stood infront of her desk and scanned the students carefully. 'So, this is my extra curricular class, huh? It's kinda empty...eh well, it's easier for me that way'. "Alright class, I'm Mrs Sikora, and I'll be your EC class teacher for the next couple er' months. Our first topic will be 'Bonding With Your Pokémon', and seen as this is our first lesson I want to see what you all already know. I'm going to give you each a sheet of lined paper and I want you all to write what you know about the subject. It can be techniques, experiences that you've had, basically anything about it." She proceeded to hand out lined pieces of paper to everyone, trying to avoid eye contact with her daughter that was sat at the back of the classroom. 'Oh, this is just great' Hana thought to herself. 'I came here to learn about type advantages/disadvantages and I have to start from square 1?! Sheesh!' She gave her mother a weary glance. "Oh, and if you're wondering why we're starting on this topic, it's simple." Arin said. "You can't proceed in being a trainer, coordinator or a breeder etc if your Pokémon can't trust you. It'd be incredibly hard y'know. Anyway, I'll give you all half an hour to write what you can, if you finish before then just raise your hand and I'll give you an activity to complete". She walked back to her desk and held a cup of coffee tightly. "Okay, go!"

Greg looked to Pikachu who licked his nose. "this will be a peice of cake." He wrote down and filled out the paper so fast he already finished the extra assignment.

Hana laid back in her chair and closed her eyes. 'Why should I even bother doing this stupid thing? It's pips, I don't need to waste my time writing about stuff I already know'. She then opened her eyes as she heard a knuckle tapping her desk. "Look Hana..." her mother whispered. "I'd appreciate it if you stopped acting all cool and actually wrote something."
Hana scoffed. "Ma, I'm thinking about what I could write. Why don't you go check Gregg's paper, he seems like he's finished." She pointed over at Gregg, to which her mother followed the direction. "Hey, you look like you've finished. You wanna bathroom break? Complete a word puzzle? I don't know, I'm new to the whole teaching thing". Arin said as she scratched the side of her head. 'Bathroom break. I'm such an idiot'.

Kara leaned back in her chair and yawned.

Hana saw Kara out of the corner of her eye. "Psst, Kara!" she whispered as she waffed a hand about towards her. "Have you finished this essay thingy-mah-jig?"

Kara sleepily looked over at her,"Yeah," She whispered back,"Why?" She then asked.

Greg looked at Arin. "Nah, I'm fine, but a crossword puzzle would kinda be fun."

"Just wondering...." Hana whispered as she frowned at her mother.

"You got it!" Arin said as she went back to her desk and pulled a green crossword puzzle out of the top drawer. "D'ya want this one?" she asked Gregg as she started to walk back.

Arin shrugged and placed the book on Greggs's desk. "That's a cute Pikachu ya have there" she said whilst smiling.

"Okay," She replied, her feet up on the desk, her arms crossed. She yawned again.

'Hmm...should I write something just to please her?' Hana thought. She licked her fingertip and started to jot something down. She then proceeded to wave her arm about in the air to get the teacher's attention.

"HEY!" Hana shouted and slowly shrunk back in her chair as she realised that other students were staring at her. "Uh...can you come and check my paper please?" she said innocently. Her mother shook her head and made her way over to her to read what she had put. "Well I expected a bit more from you, but it'll be alright for now. I'll go and get you a piece of paper to doodle on". Hana smiled as she once again got her own way.
