Training Hana's Eevee

Hana strode into the gym, her proud Luxray and her nervous-as-ever Eevee by her side. She waited patiently for Kara while she thought of different ways to train. "Hey B, why don't you and....hmm, this Eevee have a battle? Just don't be too hard on her" she asked her Luxray, to which he nodded his head enthusiastically.

Tristan walked in at that moment. "Hey!" He said enthusiastically. "How ya Doing?"

"Uh, hey Tristan" Hana smiled whilst watching Bolt chase his tail. "I'm doing fine, I'm just waiting for Kara so she can help me train my Eevee".

Harley strode in his Oshawatt and Turtwig with him.

"Hey Hana!" He said, giving her a big enthusiastic wave. He ran over to her.

"How was the birthday?" He asked. Turtwig saw Bolt and gave him a battle glance.

"It was great! Thanks again for the present!" Hana beamed as she stood back on her heels. Bolt stared at Turtwig menacingly for a few seconds then grinned at him.

Turtwig grinned back, and then stopped and begged Harley for one of his pastries.

"So what y'all doing right a now?" Harley asked puzzled.

"I'm gonna train my new Eevee with Kara. I'm trying to evolve it into an Umbreon but I need to make friends with it first apparently".

"Making friends isn't so difficult, I mean just let it know you'll care for it and make sure nothing bad happens to it. And if you want me and Turtwig could be some good spar partners."

"Uh, it's alright" she smiled. "I was gonna use Bolt as a battle dummy for her, just as long as he takes it easy and doesn't fling her through the wall or something". Bolt smiled and flicked his tail at Hana, trying to imply that he wouldn't do a thing like that unless the Pokémon provoked him to do so.

"Trust me, I am. I'm dreadful when it comes to Pokémon battles, and for the very few occasions which I've won, which was...once, I think, well that was just out of pity" she muttered.

Harley shook his head.

"You got to beleive in yourself bud." He said seriously.

"A trainer's attitude is very important in a battle, and besides, battles are supposed to be fun, sure losing is fun, but that's why we try again."

"Well, my attitude stinks and I have no winning techniques what-so-ever. And I just...hate battling because I look like an idiot out there. I just don't see the fun in that at all"

"Well you're not an idiot, idiots are too stupid to relize they are idiots." Harley walked over to her.

"It's all real fun, there is no need to be all shy. Find a better attitude, or getting Eevee to evolve might be impossible."

"Easy, think of battling as you're friends... not the stuck up ones, but the nice sweet funny ones, then just go with the flow from there, if you're laughing and having a good time, you'll be battling like a pro."

Kara hurried in, "Sorry I'm late! Umbreon and Glaceon were chasing a Pidgey." She laughed, "Ok, you ready?" She asked, proudly.

Hana tried her best to make sense of Harley's advice but with her intelligence? She had no chance. She turned to Kara and trembled slightly. "Uh, n-I mean yes! Um...of course!".

"Alright!" She noticed the slight stammer in hana's voice, "You ok?" She asked the trainer.

Kara smacked her won forehead with the palm of her hand and sighed, "Alright, first, gain your Eevee's trust with some friendship excercises. Take Eevee to those mats over there. Hana, blind-fold Eevee. Eevee is going to go through that obsticle course over there. You control Eevee. For example, if she is about to hit a wall, you might say, 'Left,' Get it?" She took a long breath.
