Shelly lived in a small town all of her life and had heard about all the great Pokemon trainers, just wishing she could be one. However, she'd never managed to catch a Pokemon and get her parent's approval. Every Pokemon she managed to capture was "too dangerous" for her to have. Eventually she just gave up on catching Pokemon.
A few years passed and she finally knew why her parents didn't like Pokemon. "Your grandfather was a great Pokemon trainer before you were born, and he died in a fierce battle," they said, "The opposing Pokemon missed hitting your grandfather's Raichu and hit him instead. It's the only reason we don't want you to have a Pokemon."
After she turned 18, she talked to her parents about it a while longer, and they finally let her have the next six Pokemon she could catch. Since she was a new trainer, they suggested that she go to train at the Academy. They gave her the journal of her grandfather and sent her off.
Personality
She's fairly quiet at first, but funny and sweet once you get to know her. Though she's only spent a week with her Pokemon so far, they have become very close and she rarely will spend time with anyone else.
