Lengths Interrupted

Just then Emily ran in, waving Hana's ski goggles in the air. "Ha! I told you not to mess with me!" she yelled just before slipping and landing in the water.
"Get back here, you stupid -" Hana called after her with a ruler in her hand as a weapon. She stopped at the edge of the pool and began to laugh. "Kay fell over!" she began to chant while pointing at her now drenched cousin. Emily muttered something under her breath and threw the goggles at Hana. "Here! Have your stupid ski things, just don't hit me with that thing!". Hana merely mimicked her hand gestures and put the ruler in Bolt's mouth for safe keeping. She looked up and saw a lone figure in the pool. "Hey!" she shouted as she waved frantically.

Hana unsteadily ran around to the other side of the pool. "Helloooooo!" she said cheerily, swaying back and forth on her heels. "Swimming again I see".

"Hehe, yep!" Hana said with glee. Emily fell straight back into the water and began to shout insulting things to nothing in particular.

"Eh, she's like that. 'Stooooopid'" she replied. "Why doesn't she just walk up those little ladders right there?".

"I....really don't want to know" she shuddered. "Dude, there's some steps right there! Idiot!" she shouted to Emily. "Hey, don't call me an idiot, dang it!" she shouted back.

Emily grunted in annoyance as she climbed up the steps. "Why does my cousin think she's so smart? Especially with that brat around..." she muttered to herself.

"I don't have time for this...." she mumbled as she got up and vanished through the doors. Hana was repeatedly smacking her forehead in embarrassment.

"Eh? I'm in my clothes, how am I supposed to go swimming?" Hana asked.

"Why'd you do that?!" she screamed at him. "It's freezing!".

She remained there shivering, too cold to swim to the ladders. "I-I've got t-to walk a-all the way b-back to m-my dorm s-soaked!"

"I-It's ok-kay...brrr..." she said.
