| Hana was stood outside the doors of the post office impatiently. After a few minutes, Emily appeared through the doors carrying a package. "Well?!" Hana asked as she snatched it from Emily's grasp.
"Cool it, partner! It might not even be anything special. After all, it is from Jay". Her words fell on deaf ears as Hana began to rip open the box and pulled out a flat peak from it. "Oh....my....GOD!" she squealed as she hugged it. "It's Jay's signature cap! Look, it even has his name written on the back in permanent marker! Look, see? Look!" she said as she shoved it in Emily's face to see.
"Uh, yeah...I see" Emily muttered as she turned around and sighed. Hana adored her cousin Jay, and receiving the most important thing to him as a gift really meant a lot to her. She picked up the little note at the bottom of the remains of the box and began to read it.
'Hana! I haven't seen you since forever...so here's a gift to help make it up to you. It might not be much but...it's the thought that counts, right?'.
She immediately put the flat peak on her head, pulling her goggles down to her neck to make room. Emily glanced down at the ground in envy. 'Seriously? Why does my brother talk to her, but not to his own sister? I mean, we're a lot closer than those two...ah, who am I kidding, I don't care...phah'. | |
