Alannah sat down beside the lake and was thinking on how to put what she felt into words,she hoped Kyle would understand if not feel the same way

Kyle sat next to her and waited for her to talk.

"Uh, I think I'll keep that anominous for now," he grinned. "But for now let's say... strong."

Alannah blushed she wrapped her arms around her knees and leaned against Kyle's shoulder "...alright...well...i just..." she pulled away slightly "nah...you'd probably not feel the same way..."

"Sometimes you have to risk being hurt to find the truth, so tell me," he said calmly.

Alannah looked to him "you know what i mean when i say...'you're more than a friend'....right?"

Alannah rested her head against his shoulder "well...." she blushed a bit "i love you....i love you so much Kyle...and have for a long while...i was gonna tell you before i left military school...but i was a little scared..."

Kyle stared at her confused, he thought she meant she thought of him as a brother or something. He turned away not knowing what to say.

Alannah looked to him and then to her feet, she pulled away from him "i thought so....i thought maybe you didn't feel the same...that's why i waited.." she said,curling up a little

Kyle put an arm around her and giving a smile "Hey, don't decide something on a reaction some people need to think about it even if he has no clue how to act or what to say..." he said gently.

Alannah's eye's widened, she sat closer to him and buried her head in his shoulder slightly "you're right...i'm sorry...i'm just nervous...that's all..."

Kyle gave a grin "Yeah so chill out, I just wasn't expecting...what you said I was expecting 'Well you're like a brother to me' or something like that, that's all..." he expplained.

"Ha, I thought you were acting wierder than usual just before you left!" Kyle chuckled.

Alannah giggled with a sweet smile "hehe,now you know why!"

Kyle gave a chuckle glad he cheered her up. "Alright, was there any other reasons you left?" he asked putting her into a playful head lock.

Alannah laughed a bit "reasons i left you say?" she said,her face changing from happy to a bit sad

Kyle let her go and gave a frown "What's up?"

Alannah sat up and thought for a minute "...do you wanna know the main reason i left?"

"Well yeah, we all were worried about you but no one seen you after that!" he said.

Alannah put one hand in her right pocket "it was my mom....she was really ill...so dad asked me to come home...so i did... that didn't cure heer though....she died a couple of months later...i would've come back to military school but......" she buried her head in her head in her hands "i...i couldn't cope..."

Kyle looked at her sympathetically "It's alright to cry if you want," he said gently.

Alannah shook her head "i promised myself i wouldn't....mom wouldn't want me to..."
